The 2021 Georgia Bulldogs football season was one for the history books. Coming off the strangeness of 2020, the Dawgs stormed back with a vengeance, fielding one of the most dominant defenses in college football history. Georgia rolled through the regular season undefeated, stumbled in the SEC Championship against Alabama, and then regrouped to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. A semifinal win over Michigan set up a rematch with Alabama in the national title game, where Georgia finally broke through—winning its first national championship since 1980. The season restored normalcy after the COVID disruptions and cemented Kirby Smart’s program as the pinnacle of college football.
