2017 was the first truly great Georgia season in a generation. The Dawgs stormed onto the national stage with epic wins that will never be forgotten. They took over Notre Dame Stadium in September, where the Red and Black outnumbered the Irish faithful in their own house. They delivered the biggest road win in school history at Tennessee and humiliated Florida 42–7 in Jacksonville. The revenge win over Auburn in the first-ever SEC Championship matchup between the two schools sent Georgia to Pasadena, where a come-from-behind classic against Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl’s first overtime game sealed a place in the National Championship.
It all ended in heartbreak in Atlanta, with Alabama snatching victory in overtime in the Dawgs first National Championship appearance in 37 years.
